Located across from the Spedale di Sant’Antonio is the Tabernacolo del Podestà, a small chapel frescoed in the late 16th century by a Florentine painter who worked with Fra’ Bartolomeo.
The background shows a Madonna and Child with Saint John the Baptist and Saint Frances; and depicted on the vault are the Father and the Four Evangelists. The facade was once decorated with an image of the Annunciation, detached to preserve it and now displayed in the City Hall.
